WEEK PROGRAM
Each year The Holley Institute has four family weeks which are for the entire family to have a week long vacation that includes learning. This is for the entire family to attend and foster bonding and acceptance of all members of the family.

Family Week One
June 30-July 5, 2024
Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children ages 0-10
Tuition Fee:
$250 per adult and $150 per child
This fee includes meals, lodging, activities, and presenter fees.
Financial aid is available upon request
Family Week 1 Program Description:
All week parents will attend morning workshops while their children are supervised by the counselors. The workshops during this week are designed to provide parents with the opportunity to ask professionals and advocates questions concerning hearing diagnosis, learning more about Deaf Culture and Community, prepare for the IEPs (Individual Education Plan), resources and services for their DHH child(ren), how to navigate those services, and how to advocate and raise a Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing child. Deaf mentors will come and show the families how to enjoy reading and learning ASL/English together. We also will have a DHH panel for the parents to ask questions about their experience growing up as a DHH child/person.

Family Week Two
July 7-12, 2024

Family Week 2 Program Description:
All week parents will attend morning workshops while their children are supervised by the counselors. The workshops during this week are designed to provide parents with the opportunity to ask professionals and advocates questions concerning hearing diagnosis, resources, and services, how to navigate those services, and how to advocate and raise a Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing child. Topics will be covered on advocating for your child and teaching your child how to advocate for themselves, transition with schedule, school, home, class, and technology, and resources how to talk with your child on serious topics. Presenters will include those in the field of special education, communication strategies, literacy strategies, and language acquisition.
